Summary: Make ranch dressing in an instant with this handy & delish mix. Those in the US will know this one well but not so much here in Oz. In fact this was one of those recipes that started my obsession with American food. I still make this up all the time.
Ingredients
- 1 tblsp dried chives
- 1 tblsp dried onion bits
- 1 tblsp sweet paprika (just not hot or smoked, called sweet in Australia)
- 1 tblsp dried parsley
- 2 tblsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tblsp ground white pepper
- 1/2 tblsp table salt
- 1/2 tblsp lemon pepper
- 1/4 tblsp dried tarragon
Instructions
- Mix well and store in a jar.
- To make up the dressing: Add 1 tbsp of mix (more or less mix to taste) to 1 cup buttermilk and 1 cup mayo or sour cream.
- To make up a dip: add 1 tbsp of mix (more or less mix to taste) to 1 cup sour cream or Greek yoghurt.
- Best if you can leave it mixed in the fridge for an hour or more before serving to allow the flavours to mingle.
Quick Notes
Keep this dry mix in a jar in the cupboard. It makes a great gift in a pretty jar.

Can you buy ‘dried onion bits’ in the shops?
Yes, you will find them as ‘bits’ or flakes in the spice area. Even my small local supermarket sells them xx
