Recipe: Thin Pizza Dough {Bread Maker Kneaded}

Summary: OMG best pizza ever! We recently scored a bread maker from Mr Ask parents and one of the first things we made was pizza, because pizza is life. We wanted a thin but still substantial crust. Something a little flavourful and delicious in it’s own right. We looked at some recipes together and decided on this and it is the best pizza I’ve ever had! We just keep making and eating it because it’s awesome. We added in two of our favorite kitchen ingredients, garlic olive oil and Massel brand chicken style stock, which is completely vegan! You have to get both of these and use them in everything!

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp garlic olive oil
  • 250g bread flour
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp chicken stock powder
  • 1/4 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a bread maker, in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Set the machine to the dough setting.
  2. About 30 mins before your dough is ready, preheat oven to 260C or whatever is the highest temp on your oven. Prepare your toppings, so everything is ready to roll. We are loving pizza sauce (bought) and sliced mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, chopped red onion and capers. Topped with a mix of vintage cheddar and fresh grated parmesan.
  3. Press & stretch out the dough out on a lightly floured pizza pan. Brush with garlic olive oil and bake for 5 mins.
  4. Remove base from the oven and top as desired. Return to the oven and bake for 15 mins or until baked to your liking. We like things kind of well cooked so we go maybe 20.
  5. Slice and serve! We like a little drizzle of hummus thinned with lemon juice or some garlic sour cream but just garlic oil would be lovely.
