I almost got scammed out of $245 this week! I have a PO Box address that’s publicly available on my website (you know, so people can send me stuff to review) and I received a letter from Domain Name Group. It was laid out like a bill with several payment options, very legit looking (see, it looks fine in the pic). But I knew it couldn’t be due yet. After re reading it a bazillion times, I realized it was to register a new domain of asksarah.net.au. A quick google told me what I already knew, it’s a scam! They’re not the only ones doing it, so fellow bloggers – Beware!!

The blogging week stated out so nicely with a guest post from Holly (go check it out if you didn’t get a chance, make her feel welcome) and ended deliciously with Mashed Potato Waffles. Mmmm, I could eat some of them right now….

- Lucy Worsley is my all time fave doco presenter and her latest doco, Tales From The Royal Wardrobe, did not disappoint. It seems fashion influenced the rise and fall monarchs! Plus I do love seeing the marvelous gowns that are normally hidden from public view.
- The already awesome Novita from A Very Purple Person asked her husband to make a Seam Allowance App to easily convert metric/imperial seam allowances. It’s available free in the App Store right now! I am always checking I have things right, so I am already a huge fan.
- I watched an awesome doco on breakfast cereal. How crazy that things work that way? You’ll never look at breakfast the same again.
- If you’ve ever had anxiety over a never ending to do list, you need this post on the Infinite list. It gave me a new view of the world while I waited at the tyre store after a sudden flat. Love some inspiration in at an unexpected moment!
- I’ve been putting off starting a new embroidery because Spotlight has been out of black floss for forever…ugh! Does anyone know of any good online embroidery stores with reasonable shipping?
- I found my beloved Twiglets in my local Coles! Exciting but I’m not sure being able to get them on a whim is a good idea….
- I’ve been inspired by 80’s sewing patterns lately. Looking at the cover art gives me shots of memory. I remember specific people wearing garments in the style. I think I’ll be creating some 80’s inspired sundresses this summer.
- I’ll leave you with this article, Kapitalism with Kim Kardashian, a rather interesting look at celebrity as a commodity….
Now to fix some glitches on the website caused by recent updates, make a bolognaise and do some laundry. In fact I think I’ll have to do Mr Asks ironing in exchange for graphic design/IT help again this week… But not before coffee, lots of coffee xxx
