I can hardly believe that we are hours away from a fresh New Year! I really like the concept of New Year. Looking back on the successes of the previous year, looking forward to new adventures, celebrating both what has been and what might be and of course, making resolutions.
And while some New Year’s resolutions are probably destined to evaporate in mere weeks, others will help guide us through the year. I’ve already been thinking about the gaps in my wardrobe, mulling over my outfit wish list and drafting my 2017 ‘to sew’ list. In a wonderful bit of kismet, I received an email from my friend Hélène about her challenge #fabricresolutions. I am so excited!
Hélène and I met (well we are internet friends but we have spoken on the phone too) just before the launch of her amazing fabric organization app Cora. Hélène was keen to hear what sewists like me wanted from an app like Cora. It was a hilarious and lengthy long distance phone call (Hélène in Egypt at the time and me in Adelaide, Australia) where we chatted all things sewing and stash. I talked poor Hélène’s ear off! But living in Australia does have its stash maintenance issues and to be honest, I was pretty excited about putting my 10c worth in while chatting direct to the app developer! The app, Cora, is truly amazing and you can really see Hélène’s sewing passions. It really does have all the right details to categorize your stash perfectly! Hélène even incorporated a feature I suggested, scraps. You know when you have scraps that aren’t really part of the yardage but could still help you squeak a pattern out? Well, you can even notate that! I know there are more features planned but I think you should have this, right now! As part of #fabricresolutions you can buy Cora for 25% off for all of January, so hop to it!
Hélène and I would love you to join in with #fabricresolutions! For the challenge, Hélène will be asking participants to share fabric resolutions on Instagram and/or Twitter with the hashtag #fabricresolutions and to tag @meetcora. On the last day listed for each week below at 9pm EST / 2am GMT, she will gather up all the entries and randomly pick the winner. If you post on both Instagram and Twitter, you’ll be entered twice. And yes, Hélène will find a way to get the physical prizes to Australia (or wherever in the world) if needed! They’re not sponsored, just things Hélène likes and think that will help with fabric stash management. Isn’t she a dear?

And I swear that Cora is worth every single cent of the price but it can be yours for 25% less during January. May 2017 be the year of stash busting or stash building (delete as appropriate). Have a fabulous New Year full of sewing wins and not a fail in sight xxx
Usual Disclaimer Stuff: Just to let you know that I’m not sponsored in any way! I too will be in the running for these awesome prizes. I just really like the Cora app and was lucky enough to get the low down from Hélène personally because we are friends. And I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the app discount or the giveaways!
