The thing I love most about sewing is being able to make whatever I want. But when you want a graphic print t-shirt it can get a bit tough. I’ve never had much success with those sheets you print your self and iron on to a tshirt. I don’t even have the right sort of colour printer!
So I got Mr Ask to make me a few designs and threw them up on Redbubble (Mr Ask has a pretty cool Redbubble store). But I only wear scooped necklines and Redbubble doesn’t have a scooped neckline that is big enough to fit me. My designs stayed there but I never bought them.
Then I found Spreadshirt, who did have a scoop neck that would fit me. I ordered a ‘Make Things’ tee in xxl and was really happy with it. It’s a little thinner than I’d like but it’s lovely and soft. Mummy Ask bought one too but in a medium. My ‘Mr Monocle’ tee just arrived and Mummy Asks just ordered one. Yes, that’s my cat, Mr Pyjamas, looking sinister in a monocle.
I’m super happy with my tees! I plan to make a few more as the inspiration strikes. I mostly wanted to share my these tees with you but of course, they’re available for sale here. I really love the way you can just design your own stuff these days. I think sewing has made me a little custom crazy! I can’t wait for the day you can 3D print custom shoes that are actually wearable, durable and comfortable…..
