As you know I recently tested some lovely hair and body products from the Organic Care range by Natures Organics. I was also lucky enough to be sent some laundry products to try and you may well be surprised with the results…..
So I gave Earth Choice Laundry Liquid Concentrate and Earth Choice Violet & Patchouli Fabric Softener Concentrate a try.
FIRST THOUGHTS
I wash in warm water as I have a water saving front loader and test show they work best with warm water but I tried washing in cold, warm and hot washes with these products to provide a full review. The laundry liquid comes in both front and top loader versions.
First thoughts were that the packaging is attractive, the bottles match nicely and boy doesit smell pretty! Both liquids are nice and thick and the cap is also a measure. I loved that because of the cap design, you don’t end up with messy drips down the bottle – that drives me nuts!
TRIAL
I tested these products over a few weeks and I managed to find quite a few stains to throw at the laundry liquid! I had pizza sauce on a grey t-shirt, cat pee on a towel, chocolate on a beige tea towel, warehouse dust on a t-shirt, filthy pot holders, cooking grease on grey t-shirt, black hair dye smudge on a towel and dropped burger on throw cushion! All came out in the wash with no pre treating!! I had no problems getting anything clean.
The washing liquid alone smells divine, it smells quite strong in the machine but once the clothes are dry it is quite subtle. The fabric softener is a whole new world of delicious smells and I must say I enjoyed how it wafted round the house while things were in the dryer.
Now we all know that I have said fabric softener is bad for you, your clothes and your machine. You are not going mad – I did say I used the fabric softener! When I received these products I was concerned about the fabric softener issue. I contacted Natures Organics and my very patient contact there, Monique spoke to the lab staff about my specific concerns. I also contacted a biologist and asked them about the ingredients. I can very happily say that there is nothing nasty in the Earth Choice fabric softener. It does contain one ingredient that is in most sunscreens that can cause irritation in some people. Those of you who have been pinning for fabric softener can race out and stock up!!
I wasn’t the only person to give this a try, here are some of their thoughts:
Sister Ask loves washing and I have only known her to use two brands of washingliquid EVER! She is very loyal to her current brand as she says it ‘strips the paint off the windowsill, that’s how full on it is’ and as a mum of four she wants something that works first time annnnnnd she is a convert! Plus she is addicted to the smell of the softener.
Mummy Ask was a powder girl but is now an Earth Choice girl and is really impressed with the clean it gives. Converted.
Jenine my lovely bestie already used Earth Choice 1L liquid but loved the smell of the concentrate. She has terribly sensitive skin and has trouble with most laundry products, she had no issues with this at all! After years of low or no fragrance laundry products she was really glad to find a fragranced one she could use. Converted.
Shell is another mother of four who tells me that she wouldn’t normally try a new product without a recommendation as money is tight and she can’t afford to waste money on a product that may not work. She was happy to see a softener that was not lavender scented as she is allergic. Her family normally uses a sensitive skin formula but are now converted.
All 7 people that tested these products said they would continue to use them.
FINAL VERDICT
Earth Choice is ethical, affordable and works! I was really thrilled with everything about these products and am really happy to recommend them. In fact I’m using them while I’m writing this.
You should be able to find them in Woolies, Coles and Foodland/IGA with a price tag of around $6. Go out and give them a try today!

When i was pregnant with my son a friend had told me about an article she had read that was explaining the effects that some cleaning products have on a young baby/childs fat content in and around their brains.I cannot remember the exact chemical it was but after hearing that went straight onto using Earcth Choice for all my cleaning products and threw out everything else.We have the floor cleaner, wool wash, dishwashing liquid, shower cleaner, clothes detergent,bench/surface spray and the white tops/oven etc cleaner.Have now been using it for over 3 years and will keep on using it while it is still available. 🙂
