Product Review: Organic Care

September 5, 2011

Okay so, I received a set of handwash , shower milk and shampoo and conditioner from the Organic Care range, made by Natures Organics.

FIRST THOUGHTS

Call me crazy but packaging is important to me, I love it when everything matches in my bathroom. The design of all four products is similar and they are in natural beigey colours that match each other. I love that the products match each other and would go in any bathroom.

Both the Chai Milk handwash and bodywash had quite strong fragrances whilst in the bottle and I wondered if they would be a bit much but was going to give them a go and see….

TRIAL

With all the cooking I do, I wash my hands a lot (Mummy Ask is a nurse and washes her hands often too) and both Mummy Ask and I have had issues with our skin peeling or cracking with other handwashes and this one leaves our hands soft and silky. Mummy Ask would never normally leave a handwash out on her kitchen sink (she loves a clean surface) but proudly keeps this one right by the tap.

I lathered up with the Chai Milk exfoliating bodywash and was pleased to find the exfoliating bits were not too scratchy and the scent wafting around in the steam was just heavenly! It lathered really well and felt nice and silky. I used it to shave my legs and my skin was so soft afterward that I felt I didn’t need to moisturise at all. Which is unbelievable!

I moved onto hair washing with some trepidation as I had used an organic shampoo in the past that left my hair like straw. Also, I have used an expensive salon formulation for a long time and was worried that Organic Care Heat Protect might not live up to my expectations. The shampoo lathered up nicely and my hair felt pretty silky before I even got the conditioner on! The conditioner was nice and thick and felt like it was working. My curls can go very wrong if I use the wrong product but I was more than pleased with how my hair ended up when dry, it was very shiny, so much so that everyone kept asking what I had done to my hair!

Now just back to the fragrance for a minute. Mr Ask and I had both used all the products and we smelt great, I almost felt like I’d been to an expensive spa because I felt all pampered and luscious. The scent is subtle but long lasting and a little exotic and good for both sexes.

I also handed it out to some friends, family and readers and I will add their quoted comments later but here is some feedback I’ve had already –

Sister Ask is a fan of a mud mask for the body ($120/jar) that leaves her skin clear and radiant and called me with delight that the bodywash was better than her mud mask and of course a fraction of the price. She says she will never use anything else again.

Mummy Ask was surprised at how moisturising it is on her skin and has tried every wash on the market looking for something that keeps her older skin supple, she too is hooked now. Mummy Ask has tried every shampoo and conditioner known to woman (she has a cupboard full of duds) in the search for one that plumps her fine hair without weighing it down or making it greasy. She trialled this at my behest and has never been happier with a shampoo. This is a win for me too as I believe the search has ended.

Marg nearly died and went to heaven when she smelt it and is now a convert. She said that she never changes products normally as she is very fussy but had agreed to try this in the name of research.

WRAP UP

I think we all would prefer to use more natural, organic and ethical product but sometimes it is hard to find an organic product that is effective, pleasing in fragrance and packaging, readily available and price competitive. I have been really blown away with these products and they will grace my trolley regularly.

All eight testers that tried these four products were happy, surprised and pleased with the products and have all said that they would buy these products again.

I can happily report that I have found these products available in my local Coles, Woolworths and Foodland, however the bodywash was only available from my Foodland. If you are keen to try these products, look for them and if you don’t find them ask your supermarket manager to get them in!

I love that you used the exfoliating liquid to shave your legs less products to have in the shower is appealing. I also like that its not to scratching. That is the main reason I stopped using exfoliating soaps as the irritated my skin. Also I love things that match so thats anb added extra bonus 🙂

As a hairdresser for 32 years I can’t impress on you enough how “we” do not recommend supermarket products! But I have finished working in salon but do some clients at home. Since I went vegan 3plus years back I had to search for products which are not animal tested.
Since finding and trying Natures Organics dry hair shampoo & conditioner I have not had to search any further. I love these products and use their entire range, personal & home care products. I unashamedly recommend them to everyone I know.
