Summary: Simple syrup is a common ingredient in cocktails, sorbets and baking. And it really is simple to make. It’s great because the sugar is already dissolved so it’s not gritty in drinks etc. It keeps for months in the fridge, I usually have some on hand because it takes a while to chill so you can use it. I tend to make up a litre at a time for quick sorbets.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Heat together in a saucepan until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Allow to cool before storing in the fridge. That’s it!
