Summary: I am kinda hard to impress. But when Besties daughter said she wanted to make fruity sausage rolls. I was down with that! But she had written her own recipe……..pretty damn awesome at 11 right? We followed her plan (the cornflour was me) and her way. It was super tasty and so worthy of a spot here. We debut Taylah…..
Ingredients
- 800g tinned pie apples
- 800g tinned pie apricots
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, hard packed
- 1tsp cinnamon
- 3 tblsp corn flour
- 8 sheets puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 190C
- Mix the pie apple and apricot with the sugar, cornflour and cinnamon. It’s fine if the fruit breaks up a little. The idea is to moosh everything together.
- Cut your pastry into long thin strips for individual ones or in half for long sausage roll ones.
- Put your filling on the pastry and roll it up. Crimping the edges with a fork helps keep filling in.
- Beat the egg & milk till smooth.
- Paint the top of the pastry with the egg and sprinkle with sugar
- Bake for around 25 mins or until the pastry is cooked and golden brown.
