Mummy Ask plucked her eyebrows very thin in the 60’s and they just never grew back in, so she’s had stylishly plucked brows for quite some time. But a few years back I pointed out that a few eyebrows had gone grey/white and her brows were disappearing! Grey brows can be super aging but it’s not the only reason to dye your brows – its great for matching your brows to your hair dye or for adding definition to fair brows. Anyway, we raced off to the beautician for an eyebrow dye, stat! However, we suck at keeping an appointment, it grew out fast and was generally a hassle. I was sure I’d seen an at home product and vowed to find it and do her brows at home.
Indeed, there was a product! It’s called 1000 Hour Eyelash & Brow Dye Kit. It comes in brown, black brown, black and blue black and can be found in Priceline or a few other pharmacies for around $19.99. We find that you get heaps of uses out if and that it lasts ages. It’s really easy to use and very quick too. We have only used it on brows but I’m sure it works great on lashes too.
There are directions in the box that you follow (yep, you really need to read and follow them) but to illustrate ease of use, this is what you do:
Squeeze a little of the colour paste into the little plastic tray it comes in.
Shake on a few drops of developer liquid onto the paste.
Stir until smooth (it won’t be perfectly smooth).
We use these disposable Dove makeup applicators (near the cotton buds in the supermarket) to apply.
Wait 4 mins, then remove with a damp cotton ball. And wash tray.
Voila!
Simple, easy, cheap and quick! I always pluck after as I can see all the little hairs. Only a few pharmacies carry this product but I strongly recommend it based on the great experience Mummy Ask and I have had xxxx
