Review: Parissa Warm Wax and Azulene Oil

October 25, 2012

A little while back I ran a giveaway of Parissa Warm Wax and Azulene Oil. I heard back from Sall Herder who was one of the lucky winners and decided I needed to give it a try myself! Here’s what Sall had to say:

So I was super excited to find out that I had won the Parissa Hot Wax and couldn’t wait for it to arrive. The postman knocks on my door and YES it’s here. I unwrap it straight away and immediately line my husband up to wax my armpits. You can imagine his excitement lol. Well let me tell you it’s awesome, he done such a great job that he is next to do my legs once the hair is long enough. Of course he is not at all happy that he did it so well as he has now become my beauty therapist lol.

Thanks again for such an awesome product 🙂

Cheers Sall

What else could I do? I raced off to Priceline (the only stockists in Australia) and grabbed some Parissa wax – I was surprised to find it was only $11.99! Next, I headed to The Besties house with my terribly hairy legs. The Bestie has been thinking about home waxing, so this way we could not only share the results but we could be each other beauty buddy plus she had already had a Parissa kit. So, I hope you are excited Lovelies, because todays review is written by The Bestie:

For most women unwanted hair is a fact of life. It is something which just has to be dealt with, from the early teen years until you get too old to remember your own name (at which point you no longer care). There are so many products on the market it is difficult to decide how to go about getting the results you want. Or you could go to a salon and have a professional do it for you. This can be quite a confronting experience if you want a Brazilian Wax. It can also be very costly although many would argue it is worth every cent. Unfortunately I have had friends have bad experiences using this method. Can you be sure of an appointment when you need it?

So maybe you want to get rid of all that hair at home. What’s the first thing people usually reach for? The good old razor. Great for a quick fix but for longer term not so much. You may find yourself shaving everyday to keep your skin hair free. Again time consuming and costly. Good razors are not cheap or so the marketing experts tell us. Shaving not for you? What are your other options? I have never found a cream that performs like the box says it will and with my skin and allergies I can’t use most of them. What’s left? Home waxing! The thought of doing my own waxing was let’s be honest BLOODY TERRIFYING! Lots of home wax kits have ingredients that would be detrimental to my health so I generally stay away from them. I think I have finally found my saving grace in the Parissa products.

Having decided to give the Parissa wax a go I needed to not shave for about a week to let the hair get long enough to be YANKED OUT. Still scared of trying this on my own I roped the Ms Ask into doing it too. Unless you are proficient in this sort of thing I would recommend having somebody help you. Working together we found the Parissa wax very easy to work with and we were astounded by the results. My leg hair was pretty short in comparison to my assistant waxer Ms Ask “There’s not much there. I don’t think it will work” says she to me. Nevermind I thought we will give it a go, see what happens. We were somewhat surprised it worked on the short hair but work it did. I now don’t have to worry about it for at least the next 4 weeks YAY! Once mine were done it was Ms Asks turn. Hate to say it but she is kind of hairy. In the past fortunes have been invested to keep up the hair free appearance and nothing really had the desired results. After applying wax and strip I was ready to pull it off she was ready of disappointment. Imagine our surprise when every single hair attached to that section of skin was no longer there. I swear we sat there for a good 20 seconds just looking at it saying OMG can you believe this, it works, it actually works.

Skipping ahead to both of us now having hair free legs. In the box of Parissa wax is a small vial of oil to apply afterwards this left my skin feeling nourished and looking good.

Will I use this product again? Yes. Will I recommend it to others? Yes. All up a great experience that I look forward to repeating, but not too soon.

And if you need more evidence – above is a pic of my waxed leg on the left and my hairy leg on the right! So there you have it Lovelies! If you are wanting to home wax, grab some Parissa Warm Wax from Priceline, perhaps rope a friend into being your assistant and look forward to silky, smooth, hair free skin xxx
