This week happened in blink! I really want to know where it went. Looking back it was a week awash with errands and sewing puzzles. The highlight was getting all dressed up for Departure at the Art Gallery. A special drinks and nibbles event built around the current Fashion Icons exhibit. We had the best time! It was amazing to get so close to those phenomenal dresses, even though it was hard to resist the urge to touch! It’s what I wanted to do for my Birthday (even though that’s a week away) and this event was happening, it worked out perfectly! Thanks to Simone my ASG group, who told me this event was on!

- Mum bought me a mug & pins as souvenirs. There were plenty of gorgeous books but I already have a sewing book wish list.
- Obligatory pics taken on the photo runway on the way out. You’ll be hearing about this skirt, how things went wrong but worked out all right, it was a trialling make!
- Posing outside in a pile of jacaranda blossoms. It was so nice to be in the pretty part of the city at night, chatting evening gowns.
- There were even gift bags! One had a mouse mat and the other had notebooks. So pretty!
- We went home and watched this video about the inside of a vintage dress and this one about the making of a couture dress. Beautiful!
- I spent several nights this week trying to work out how to sew something, a sewing puzzle if you will. I struggle with the 3D thinking involved but I eventually worked it out enough to cut the fabric and pin and see what happened. I got it to work in the end but I feel it aged my brain, regardless of this study!
- Of course my nautical skirt was the opposite, nice and easy, even if the mystery buttons had me googling. It’s such a pleasure when things come together nicely!
- I had an overlocker incident that reminded me of the importance of cleaning. A cheap mini vacuum with a USB makes things much easier.

My Sunday will be pretty low key, all the usual tidying and laundry. I want to mess around with some vegetables (like this crumbed zucchini) so perhaps a trip to the supermarket. Then I think I owe it to myself to have a good flick through my books on pretty dresses. Wishing you a weekend of gorgeous garments xxxx
