It happens to the best of us, you walk away and forget about what’s on the stove and return to a burnt pan. I once worked with a woman who told me that she used to burn saucepans often and would bury them in the garden so her husband wouldn’t find out! All that effort when the solution is easy!
Now you may need to adjust quantities to suit your pan but add 2 cups water, 1 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup of bicarb soda to the pan and put it back on the heat. Allow the mix to boil gently for a few of
minutes. While it is heating/boiling, use a wooden or plastic stirrer to gently scrape of any burnt food.
Tip out the mix and rinse, if there is quite a lot of burnt gunk, repeat the above.
If it is really stubborn you can coat the bottom in bicarb, add a cup of vinegar and leave over night, then move to the next step in the
morning.
To remove the last bits, add a good coating of bicarb and then a splash of vinegar, use a sponge to rub off any marks. Rinse well.
Please persist if it’s bad, it really works and is much easier than scrubbing. I’ve contacted some high end saucepan manufactures and this is what they recommend too xx
