I am a soda water addict! I drink at least a couple of bottles a day, every day. I mean, what fun is water if it doesn’t have bubbles, right? It’s cheap, it can be flavoured with fruits or fruit juice and is a cocktail staple. If you look at the label on a bottle of soda water, you will see it contains some minerals. And of course it’s carbonated. That means you can use it for all these fabulous applications:
- Lighten a batter by substituting some of the liquid with soda water. Hello, light fluffy pancakes and fritters.
- Take the green out of blonde hair by washing as normal and finishing with a soda water rinse.
- If you have spilt coffee (or anything else) on your white blouse and are trying to fix a stain on the run, dab with soda water, leave 10mins and blot dry with clean paper towel.
- Fix clothing stains by pouring soda water through the stain over the machine, leave for 10 mins before washing as normal.
- Cordial (or worse) on the carpet? Pour soda water on the stain from a height, very slowly. Leave for 10mins, blot with a clean towel and top with bicarb. Once the bicarb is completley dry, vacuum off.
- Use a soft cloth and soda water to shine up chrome on the car or in the house.
- If you have flat soda water, pour it into house plants (or any plant really) that need a lift, the minerals will help it along.
