You all know that you can clean anything with bicarb, vinegar, dish washing liquid and isopropyl alcohol but sometimes the method can really reduce the amount of elbow grease required.

I have an old fashioned shower over the bath (which I love, by the way) but the bath is old and scratched and I just hate cleaning it. It’s awkward, I always break a nail and well, it’s hard. So, I keep putting it off until it’s filthy. I decided it was time to find a better way – and I did!

I bought the kind of dish washing sponge scourer that has a handle you can fill with dish washing liquid (I can’t stand using these for dishes but they’re great here) and filled the handle with white vinegar and a squirt of dish washing liquid. I gave my bath a scrub and had it clean in record time with hardly any effort! This is great to keep in the shower too. There’s no cleaning fluids splashing about and the combo of vinegar and dish washing liquid cuts through soap scum with ease.

It’s such a simple concept but it works like a charm! UPDATE 12/3/2013 : If you are the sort who needs proof, you are in luck! I have a before and after pic of The Besties bath tub.
