I know, these brownies are very popular! And it has come to my attention that a few people are planning to make several batches for this festive season. I worked out how much I needed to buy for 10 batches of brownies when I made them for my book launch. Now 10 batches may seem a lot but it’s not like you have to make them all at once or you may want to give an ‘in a jar’ version to a few people (the version with printable Christmas & regular printable labels is here). Because the recipe is measure in cups etc, it can be hard to know how much of each ingredient to buy. I put this list together for myself, so it’s not exact but it’s enough to make 10 batches, with minimal left overs. You’ll find the recipe here but for this 10 times batch, you’ll need:
- 950g plain flour 1kg bag
- 900g cocoa powder or 4 boxes 250g
- 3.25kg brown sugar or 7 x 500g bags
- 2kg chocolate button melts or 6 x 375gĀ melts mix of dark & milk
- 30 eggs or 2 x 18 packs free range eggs
- 2.5kg butterĀ or 5 x 500g butter pats
- 50ml vanilla
- 1 kg slivered almonds, optional
- 1 box 35cm x 27cm snap locks, to store
- Baking paper
I buy in grams, measure in cups. Mix a double batch of dry mix into each snap lock (can store 6mths). Mix up as needed, bake about 30 mins for double batch but check at 25. Use a 9″ x 13″ pan.
