Summary: Okay, I’m really excited about my new ice cream maker and you will probably see a few ice cream recipes here. If you want to try making ice cream with out the specialist equipment give this a try.
Instructions
- Make sure your mix is properly fridge chilled. Beat ice cream or frozen yoghurt with electric beaters (or in a stand mixer) until thickened and fluffy.
- Pour mix into a wide, shallow, airtight container and freeze for 30mins.
- Remove from freezer and beat with electric beaters. Return to freezer.
- Repeat the step above another 3-4 times.
- Leave in freezer until you are ready to eat. Keeps for 2-4 mths.
Sorbet without an ice cream maker
- Pour into an airtight container, cover and place in the freezer for 4-5 hours or until almost set.
- Roughly break up the sorbet with a metal spoon and transfer to the bowl of a food processor. Process briefly until sorbet is smooth and has a soft, icy texture.
- Return sorbet to container and place in the freezer for a further 4 hours or until firm. Remove from the freezer and repeat the above. Return sorbet to the container and place in the freezer for a further 5 hours or until firm.
