Summary: These really hit my ginger bread craving without the effort and are now a fave of Sister Asks!
Ingredients
- 115g butter, softened
- 115g brown sugar
- 200g plain flour
- 1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp allspice
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Icing
- 2 tblsp butter
- 4 tblsp icing sugar
- 1 tblsp golden syrup
- 1 tsp ground ginger
Instructions
- Pre heat oven to 180C.
- In a mixer or with electric beaters, cream the butter and sugar together, till pale and fluffy.
- Add the flour, spices and baking powder and knead/mix until if forms a dough. Press into a small lined slice tin.
- Bake 20-25 mins.
- Add the icing ingredients to a microwave container and microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between. Once mixture is smooth and warm, pour over warm slice while it is still in the tin.
- Cut into squares when cooled and set
