Summary: Flavoured syrups are amazing in cocktails or used as a cordial but that’s not all. This is fabulous in a cup of black tea with a little honey. You could even use it in cakes and icings. It’s quick and easy to make and makes a lovely gift.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups torn mint leaves
- 2 limes, juice and zest
Instructions
- Bring the water, sugar, mint and zest to a boil in a saucepan. Cook for 10 mins or till all sugar is dissolved. Turn of the heat and stir in the lemon juice.
- Allow the mixture to cool, then stain into into a small bottle with a tight fitting lid.
- Seal the bottle and store in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
